The Berlin Wall is a detrimental part of the german history which is familiar to most. But have you heard about the 180 people who were climbing over the wall from west to east trying to escape INTO the GDR in 1988? This tour is a location-based-game that explores this uncharted part of history while the participants are taking part in a competition. Das magische Dreieck brings you to the exact location where everything once happened. Using an iphone you will detect hotspots with information, questions and challenges. Excited? Let the game begin!

Date: 10.08 / 10:00-14:00 / in 30 min slots
Meeting point: Lennéstraße 1 / the corner of Ebertstraße (S+U Bhf Potsdamer Platz). The tour is located between Lennéstraße, Bellevuestraße und Ebertstraße.

Towel Day 2014

A happy towelday 2014. As a tradition for the last years I have chosen one certain place to present my DON’T PANIC towel. This year it’s the High Line in New York City. The former overhead train line is transformed to a public park. The benches for the break or sun bath are maneuverable on the former tracks. The entire garden is like a virtuell station – a wonderful meeting point for hitchhikers on the Towel Day.

I set up a Towel Day gallery, where you can see that towel travelled already to some locations and met Lenin in 2010.

About Towel Day
Since 2001, on may, the 25th, hitchhiker’s, fans + enthusiasts of D. Adams are celebrating the Towel Day, by carrying a towel with them. A few days after Douglas Adams died on the may, 11th 2001 D Clyde Williamson proposed to invent that day, as a tribute to the author of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’.

Handtuch Tag 2014

In der Fortführung meiner Tradition der letzte Jahre habe ich auch diese Jahr den Towel Day zum Anlass genommen mein DON’T PANIC Towel an einem besonderen Ort zu platzieren. Dieses Jahr ist es eine Sonnen-Bank auf der High Line in New York City. Die stillgelegte Hochbahn ist zu einem öffentlichen Park geworden. Die Bänke lassen sich auf den alten Schienen verschieben. Eine virtuelle Wartehalle und eine perfekter Treffpunkt für alle Anhalter :)

Über den Handtuch Tag
Der Towel Day ist ein Gedenktag für den Autor Douglas Adams der durch sein Buch ‘Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis’ (Original: ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’) weltweit bekannt wurde. Kurz nach seinem Tod dem 11. Mai 2001, wurde zur Ehren von D. Adams ein Gedenktag ins Leben gerufen: der 25. Mai. An diesem Tag sind jedes Jahr seine Fans aufgerufen ein Handtuch sichtbar zu tragen.
